David Jenner, of Bristol Township, was arraigned Sunday on charges of homicide, aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, and recklessly endangering another person, according to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.
Investigators say Jenner had been staying at a home on the 600 block of Veterans Highway when he got into an argument with 43-year-old Charlie R. Thomas Jr., and repeatedly stabbed him, according to a criminal complaint.
Police were alerted to the incident after emergency dispatchers received a call at 11:01 p.m. for a stabbing victim at the home, authorities said. Jenner stabbed Thomas and then walked to the front of the home holding a knife, according to the caller, Thomas' brother.
He reported hearing an argument outside his bedroom and learning that his brother had been stabbed, authorities said.
As officers arrived, Jenner was standing on the front porch, police said. He then admitted to the stabbing and pointed to an 8-inch chef-style knife on the ground, claiming it was "evidence," according to the complaint.
Police noted there was blood on the knife and his hands.
Thomas suffered multiple stab wounds, police said.
He was taken to Lower Bucks Hospital where he was pronounced dead, investigators said.
Thomas' 64-year-old mother was also stabbed in the left arm as she tried to separate Jenner from her son, the DA's office said.
She was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and is expected to survive, authorities said.
Thomas was denied bail and sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 4 in front of Magisterial District Judge Kevin P. Wagner.
The case was investigated by the Bristol Township Police Department and Detectives with the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. The case is assigned for prosecution to David A. Keightly Jr.
